Palace Cinema Questions and Answers

Resolved Question: My younger brother is acting up?

My younger brother is 17. He has no aspirations. He doesn't want to finish school even though he has only has 6 months to go. He has this new girlfriend who's just terrible and he wants to move out with no money, no job. What's wrong with this kid? He lives with mum and dad who have a 3 story palace with a cinema, pool, his own room with a flat screen etc. They only require he finishes school for his own good and he's welcome to stay as long as he wants. He's not interested in anything. I was thinking, since i live an hour away, id get him to come live with me and enroll him in a school that's closer to my place. It will make it harder for him to see his friends often (They are the main problem in my opinion) and I'm a lot harder than mum and dad so I'll keep tabs on him with his teachers to make sure he's doing the work and I'll even get him a tutor. Do you think this is a good idea? Or should I let him just go out there and suffer? The thing is, he knows he'll always have mum and dad to fall back on and because they love him so much, they wont let him go hungry. Opinions people.  more

Resolved Question: Could it be possible for the palace of universe being without a builder?

A house cannot arise without a builder, particularly a house adorned with miraculous works of art, wondrous designs, and amazing ornaments. As much art has been put into one of its stones as into a whole palace. No intelligence will accept that it could arise without a builder; definitely it needs a master architect. Moreover, within the building, veritable rooms take shape and change each hour with the utmost order and ease, just as if clothes were being changed, or as if scenes were passing across a cinema screen. We can say even that numerous little rooms are constantly being created in each of those scenes. In like manner, the cosmos also requires an infinitely wise, all-knowing and all-powerful maker. For the magnificent cosmos is a palace that has the sun and the moon as its lamps and the stars as its candles; time is like a rope or ribbon hung within it, on to which the Glorious Creator each year threads a new world. And within the world that He thus threads on the string of time He places three hundred and sixty fresh and orderly forms. He changes them with the utmost orderliness and wisdom. He has made the face of the earth a bounteous spread that He adorns each spring with three hundred thousand species of creation, that He fills with innumerable kinds of generous gifts. This He does in such a fashion that they all stand apart from each other, quite separate and distinct, despite their being at the same time so close and intermingled. Is it possible to overlook the existence of the Maker of such a palace? What do you think about it?  more

Resolved Question: Ok,I've been having this really weird dream and i remember everything?

I dreamt that i was a swordsman with a huge sword and that a group of people were after me,then just before i was killed my friend showed up and revived me.I then chased them to the top of a mountain and then one of them burst into flames, not like dying, but like gaining some sort of unholy power. Then the whole view shifted to third-person.They all suddenly turned and suddenly encouraged the flaming guy saying,"You can do it,just believe in yourself!'"Then suddenly the flaming guy flew into a deep pit. Then the view changed to first-person aain and there i was,in the deep pit and then without my control, hands reached out and molded the pit into a mud palace. He then engulfed the mud palace with fire and suddenly it turned into a beatiful palace with silver and gold. Then the view changed to a prince in the castle about to marry another princess. As they held their hands the view shifted and all i saw then was a cage of birds and somone sayiing "that's animal cruelty!"After that,it was like i zoomed out or something and i sat up from my seat at the cinema and called my sister saying that the ending of the movie was great! Please tell me what it all means! PS:I forgot to add in that when they ere fighting me theree were seven against one so i bargained until there were five only, if this even means anything!  more

Resolved Question: Egyptian: Do you watched Films?

Egyptian, According to my friend he doesnt watch movies because he thought it was sinful. However, as far as i'm concerned, Egyptian has this Cairo Film Festival. I really like watching films, I mean good films. Do you watched Films? Was kissing scene allowed in Arab cinema? Can you make horror movies? I knew your ancient God Sekhmet drank blood but I 'm not that sure My favourite Chinese films was Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Korean: Jewel in the Palace: Japanese: Fushigi Yuugi, Indian: Drona and Hollywood: I would say Titanic but I like The Cure better My favourite arabic film was Al Waad by Ruby. she surprisingly shows potential for a commanding actress with a distinctive persona, imposing screen presence and unexpected depth. She deserve an award for best actress for a new comer. She is my favourite. Do you think she look like the ancient queen Nefertiti? Just compare their head bust. You cannot say it was a bad film because as I had gathered it was high engrossing. But my most favourite film of all time was an independent film about two children searching for the cure and they went to Cairo to get it, only to find out that God's love was with them all the time What do you think is the best Arabic film?  more

Resolved Question: Geography/history riddle (uk) please help!!!?

Read the article below and answer the questions at the end of the text. Clues to the answers can be found within the text: Letter to Puzzle-loving Friend: "Guess where I am: the land of a favourite television programme, where many outdoor scenes were filmed. Indeed, if you read this note carefully, you will find the first letters of a certain number of consecutive words. When joined (without rearranging), they make a catch phrase for which it is known. The centre for outdoor filming was this town, once capital of an ancient kingdom. It was also the birthplace, in 1737, of an author; writings include Common Sense. There were once five monasteries here; Timothy and Maurice, two of the programme’s characters, would surely have been interested. Me too: I explored the remains of one, burial place of an earl, victorious in a battle of 1513, and of a king’s illegitimate son, born 1519. Nearby, I soon found landmarks that appeared in the programme. The Guildhall; flint cottages; the old Palace cinema. (How I like to think this is where, in one episode, some of the characters watched A Man in the Shadows — a film that was "rather near", according to one lovable chap.) "My search for televisual nostalgia has already taken me further afield — 40 miles north-northeast to a village station. It’s just west of a second town, where a poet (born 1909; works include The Temple) spent part of his childhood. The village station, opened in 1901 by the M&GNR, is now part of a heritage railway. Another favourite episode, involving royalty, was filmed there. I can say with absolute certainty that it is a place where aforementioned lovable chap would find nothing dodgy or "near". Tastefully preserved and neat, it could be just as it looked a century ago. "Now, though, I am going to drive north to find where one of the most famous scenes was filmed — although I doubt I shall even get close. The words ‘danger area’ are sprinkled across my map, for this is a deserted 30,000-acre expanse of heath and pine forest — evacuated in the 1940s. Sites of Special Scientific Interest and abandoned villages keep ghostly sentinel over military proceedings. Yet amid it all, just three miles west of a 93-mile national trail, is the spot where that most famous of all scenes was filmed. "The scene, no less, that marked the end." The questions 1 Name the programme and catch phrase 2 What is the name of the second town?  more

Resolved Question: Need translation-English to French (for my penfriend)?

Need translation-English to French (for my penfriend)? I have a penfriend she lives in France and can only speak french so could someone please translate this paragraph (INTO FRENCH) of a holiday I had in France. I travelled to France by ferry with my family in October. We went to Normandie. It was a very beautiful town and we visited the cinema and restraunts. We stayed at a very comfortable 5 star hotel. We went wind surfing and sailing in the sunny weather. We had snails and oystures at the 'seafood palace' restraunt. I thought Normandie was a great city and we all had lots of fun. We hope to visit there again in the future. This is only some of the letter I am sending her (I can manage the hello and goodbye) but could you please try and make it as accurate as possible. I don't want her writing back saying how bad my French is.  more

Resolved Question: Should Pastors run the Congregation like a business and live extravagant lifestyle?

Recently, it's on the news that three pastors of Prayer Palace in Canada lead lavish lives. Between them, the pastors have amassed a real estate fortune worth about $12 million. Each owns a multi-million-dollar country estate ( worth as much as $5.5 million), one mansion has a home cinema, five-car garage, seven bathrooms and seven bedrooms. They share a Florida vacation villa, and the pastors and their wives drive luxurious cars – among them a Porsche Cayenne SUV, a Lexus RX 330 SUV and a Mercedes-Benz CLK 320 convertible, an Audi A6S sedan, BMW 7 Series and 3 Series sedans, a Lincoln LS and Towncar, and a red, oversized Dodge pickup. However, a continuing investigation into Canadian charities has found the church devotes little money to charitable work. In fact, the church's most recent financial statements show that only $9,443 was spent on "benevolent and charity" activities in 2005. The church's annual "missions" fluctuate between $500 and $36,704 in the past few years. Resolved Question: What would it take to get you to go to the movie theater again?

Less and less people are going out for the movies. Some point to the degradation of the cinema going experience (ex. cell phones and too many advertisements) other toward the vast number of alternative viewing possibilities (ex. downloadable movies). However, there is still something to be said about entering the movie palace and sharing the experience of a new film. What can Hollwood do for you as the audience to bring you out of your home and into the theater? To you this might mean more of a particular genre, more unknowns in leading roles, more 3D films, or a completely revamped theater experience. Please share your thoughts.  more

Journeying around Monti Pisani like 200 years ago Journeying on to Florence through the Tuscan countryside around Monti Pisani: Lucca, Pisa and other delightful towns dot the road to Pisa where who are guested of the Agostini family Villa di Corliano. The family - and 2 resident ghosts - still welcome guest at the Villa, much as it they were at the height of its fame in the 1770’s. The stay at Bagni di Pisa (health giving waters are still offered to an international clientele) and visit Pisa during one of the city’s festivals, staying at the Agostini Pisa Palace to enjoy the best view of the festivities http://www.provincia.pisa.it/pisalive/it/Pisalive/pisalive.html San Ranieri festivities - Pisa Lungarno The Villa has hosted many illustrious guests such as Gustavus III of Sweden, Federico IV of Norway, Christian II of Denmark, the Royal Family of Great Britain, Benedict Stuart Cardinal of York, General Murat, Luigi Buonaparte, Paolina Borghese, Carlo Alberto of Savoy, the poets Byron and Shelley, and various other personages from the history books. The area of the Pisa hills was already an attraction for enlightened travellers in the first half of the 1700s with the growth of the thermal spa of San Giuliano (Bagni di Pisa), which became a fashionable spot for the well-off classes. The mansions on the road along the hills, already renowned as places of gentle idleness and relaxation in the heart of the countryside and also for their small industrial facilities for the transformation of agricultural products, soon assumed the characteristics of true leisure resorts, just like those narrated by Carlo Goldoni and which we can continue to enjoy today http://www.bagnidipisa.com/ . Shelley's house in Bagni di Pisa The Villa Agostini della Seta di Corliano http://www.villacorliano.it/ is on the road which runs along the foot of the hills from Pisa to Lucca, passing through the small town of San Giuliano Terme. The Villa is a historical fifteenth century mansion surrounded by a centuries old park. It is a property of great charm in which the owners offer, in 12 rooms and 2 suites, a relaxing stay immersed in the beauties of the local countryside. Guests, if they like, can join in the day to day activities of the villa. They can have relaxing strolls in the park, potter around in the gardens, chat or have dinner with the owners in the farmhouse of the villa – today a high class restaurant http://www.ladycarlotta.it/ They can also organize all the necessary details for your meetings, events, weddings in the 1700’s small pivate church or in the small Pisa Palace 1400’s sky garden or in the 35.000 smt park of Villa della Seta di Corliano. Villa di Corliano – San Giuliano Terme Conventions can be hosted in a historic Italian cinema http://www.lumierecinema.it/ (founded on 1905) and restructured with modern audio visual technologies on 2004 near the Vecchio Dado Resturant http://www.vecchiodado.com/ (founded on 1746) and the Royal Victoria Hotel http://www.royalvictoria.it/default-it.htm (founded on 1839). We also suggest a very good italian ice cream in the old “diacciaia” of the Caffè dell’Ussero, (founded on 1775) now located to De Coltelli gelateria http://www.decoltelli.it/ Caffè dell’Ussero – Pisa It is a monument to Italian culture in the 1400's Palazzo Agostini, on Lungarno. Its walls are covered with glorious memories from its most famous visitors of the Italian Risorgimento: Carlo Goldoni, Giacomo Casanova, Count Alfieri, Filippo Mazzei, Gioacchino Belli, Giuseppe Mazzini, John Ruskin, Domenico Guerrazzi, Giuseppe Giusti - who made it famous in his "Memories about Pisa" in 1841 - Renato Fucini, Giosuè Carducci, Cesare Abba, Giuseppe Montanelli. In 1839, it was seat of the meetings of the first Italian Congress of Scientists.  more
